Returning to challenge his title, Tarzi finished in second spot in the 2010 Strickland Stakes, after losing his lead fifty metres from the finish.
It is the ninth time Marasco has beaten Tarzi in 12 starts.
Doyoudare came in third position in the small field of six, and took the pacemaker role, but could not break Tarzi’s pace.
The 2010 Strickland Stakes was the only Group event to take place on Saturday at Ascot, however there were a number of quality races, with four Black Type Listed events run.
